La Fundación QAFF ha logrado articular espacios y conocimientos que permiten explorar culturas geográficamente distantes pero similares, unidas por la historia para siempre. Con el objetivo de desarrollar la educación cultural y la formación profesional en las artes audiovisuales, así como promover intercambios transcontinentales, la Fundación QAFF ha llevado «África a Colombia».

La Fundación QAFF trabaja en la producción y distribución audiovisual, incluyendo cine, televisión y contenidos para plataformas web. Su primera iniciativa fue el Quibdó África Film Festival (QAFF), cuya primera edición titulada “Contando África desde Quibdó” se llevó a cabo del 18 al 28 de septiembre de 2019 en el pacífico colombiano. Esta fue la primera vez que se realizó un foro para conocer las culturas Afro desde Quibdó. La segunda edición, «Donde la realidad se encuentra con la ficción», se llevó a cabo del 15 al 19 de septiembre de 2020 en la plataforma de streaming Boonet.co debido a la pandemia del COVID-19, lo que implicó un gran desafío para la planeación y producción del festival.

La tercera edición del QAFF, titulada «Afrofuturismo», se llevó a cabo del 14 al 18 de septiembre de 2021 de forma virtual en Colombia y de forma presencial en la ciudad de Pointe-Noire, Congo. Con una modalidad híbrida, el festival buscó acercar las ciudades de Quibdó y Pointe-Noire para crear puentes de intercambio cultural, social y económico que permitieran establecer alianzas a medio y largo plazo. La cuarta versión, «Herencia», se realizó de manera presencial en Quibdó del 12 al 17 de septiembre de 2022, un verdadero enclave de la herencia africana en Colombia. Los ganadores del certamen recibieron una estatuilla inspirada en el mítico Baobab, que representa la conexión entre África y su diáspora a través del cine.

He has dedicated his work to demonstrate the strength that arises through the feelings of people, starting from common situations. Director of the Basango Foundation, who at the same time as a film director, has participated in different projects around the world. Since 2017 he works with the production company Claudia Cruz of Yerbabuena Films as director.

Adviser/ Curator @leonardcortana Leonard Cortana is a P.hD Candidate at the Cinema Studies Department at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and a Research Fellow at the NYU Africa House. His research focuses on the transnational circulation of narratives about racial justice and activist movements between Brazil, South Africa, France and the US with a special emphasis on the memorialization of political assassinations, the spread of the legacy of assassinated anti-racist activists.

Community Manager @lasgafasdelau Young Afro-Colombian woman, born in Bogota, with parents originally from the Cauca area of the country, graduated in Marketing and Advertising from the Fundación Universitaria de Área Andina. Passionate about culture and marketing with social impact, faithful believer that ideas hand in hand with technological tools have the power to transform realities. Her work is focused on the development and execution of marketing and communication strategies.

Press Scriptwriter @slaudicina Is a Social Communicator-Journalist graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente with emphasis on research and production of articles for print and digital media. 10 years of professional experience, with an extensive curriculum of publications in newspapers, magazines and national and international websites. High level of skills in textual cohesion, composition, creative writing and spelling.

Franck Tchicaya as "Victor Headley"

Adviser / Coordinator @francktchicaya Writer, screenwriter. He wrote the best-selling novel Yardie (1992), which gained cult status upon publication. Other books include Yardie sequels Excess (1993) and Yush (1994), and Fetish (1995), Here Comes The Bride (1997), Off Duty (2001), Seven Seals (2002) and Domino (2018). His first novel Yardie has been adapted into a feature film, directed by actor Idris Elba.
